Heavy Duty Square Glass Clamp 70×55 mm – overview
The Heavy Duty Square Glass Clamp 70×55 mm (MOD 2024) is the largest and strongest square clamp in the UNIKIM catalogue. This heavy duty glass clamp holds 10–12 mm single glass and laminated glass up to 17.52 mm, for panels up to 1,600 mm wide.
It is listed for indoor use and, with a security pin, for outdoor use (catalogue pages 39–41 and 44). A matte black version is also available: Black Square Glass Clamp 70×55 mm.

For AISI 316 replace A2 with A4. For the finish replace the last letter: S brushed, M polished, B black, W white, R raw.
Applications
Balustrades with thick laminated glass on stairs, balconies, terraces and commercial buildings; wide panels up to 1,600 mm; outdoor railings with a security pin; any project where 12 mm or 12.76 mm glass or thicker is specified.
Installation notes
- Glass panel height in the catalogue test set-up: 800–1,000 mm; minimum panel width 500 mm.
- Gap from handrail to top of glass, and from floor to bottom of glass: 10–50 mm (up to 120 mm with edge protection).
- Fit the clamps 100–150 mm from the top and bottom edges of the panel.

When to choose a heavy duty clamp
Choose MOD 2024 when the glass is 10 mm or thicker, laminated up to 17.52 mm, or the panels are wide. For 6–12.76 mm glass a smaller clamp such as the Square Glass Clamp 55×55 mm is usually enough.
